Dr. Antonio Tramullas Juan is a specialist in Sports Medicine with more than three decades of experience in the healthcare, performance management and medical supervision of professional athletes across football, basketball and elite sport.
He graduated in Medicine from the University of Barcelona, completed a Diploma in Sports Medicine at the University of London and obtained Team Physician certification from the American College of Sports Medicine. He later completed a leadership programme at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
A major part of his career was developed at FC Barcelona, where he worked between 1998 and 2013 as First Basketball Team Physician, First Football Team Physician and later as a Medical Services and External Consultant.
His international career includes serving as Medical Director of the Aspire Academy Sports Medicine Center, working at Aspetar Sports Medicine Hospital and as First Football Team Physician at Al Sadd Sports Club in Qatar. He also served as Head of Sports Medicine and Physiology for the Saudi Arabia Football Federation and as Medical Director of the Basketball EuroLeague. Since January 2026, he has been Sports Medicine, Health & Performance Director at Sevilla FC.
At BAIS 2026, Dr. Tramullas will deliver “Imaging in High-Performance Sport: What the Team Doctor Needs”, providing the team physician’s perspective on how imaging should support decision-making from acute injury through to return to competition.
