Dr. Masahiro Jinzaki is Professor of Diagnostic Radiology at Keio University School of Medicine in Tokyo and a leading expert in the development and clinical application of innovative diagnostic imaging technologies.

His research focuses on advanced computed tomography, cardiovascular and urological imaging, functional imaging and the development of new techniques for visualising anatomical and physiological processes.

A particularly important area of his work has been the development and evaluation of upright CT, which enables patients to be examined while standing or sitting rather than only in the conventional supine position. This approach allows anatomical and functional changes to be assessed under the real effects of gravity and weight-bearing.

At BAIS 2026, Dr. Jinzaki will deliver the online lecture “Upright and Weight-Bearing CT”, exploring its applications in standing, sitting and true weight-bearing positions, including dynamic spinal assessment, lower-limb alignment and conditions that may only become apparent under gravity.
