Dr. Miguel Vázquez Gómez is a specialist in Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology, with a particular focus on sports traumatology and arthroscopic surgery.
He graduated in Medicine from Universitat Internacional de Catalunya and completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology at Hospital Universitario Dr. Josep Trueta, University of Girona. His doctoral research focuses on clinical stratification and outcome prediction following hip arthroscopy for femoroacetabular impingement using data-driven methods.
He currently works as a specialist in Orthopaedic and Sports Traumatology at Instituto Cugat – Fundación García Cugat, Hospital Quirónsalud, and at the Mutualidad Catalana de Futbolistas. His previous experience includes arthroscopic surgery and sports medicine practice in Barcelona, Girona and Madrid.
His scientific activity focuses strongly on hip pathology and hip arthroscopy, including outcome prediction, return to sports, cartilage damage and the use of machine-learning models to improve patient stratification.
At BAIS 2026, Dr. Vázquez will present “Hip, Groin and Athletic Pubalgia”, exploring the clinical and imaging assessment of these conditions beyond femoroacetabular impingement.
