Dr. Mohamed Jarraya is a musculoskeletal radiologist, Director of Musculoskeletal Research at Mass General Brigham Radiology, and Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School.
His clinical and research expertise focuses on musculoskeletal imaging, sports-related injuries, osteoarthritis, and advanced CT and MRI applications.
His research program investigates imaging biomarkers of structural disease and pain in knee osteoarthritis, including the role of chondrocalcinosis, pain phenotyping, and the relationship between imaging findings and patient symptoms.
He has also contributed to the clinical translation of advanced CT technologies, particularly dual-energy CT and photon-counting CT, in musculoskeletal disease.
Dr. Jarraya is an NIH K23-funded investigator and has published more than 45 peer-reviewed manuscripts since his appointment as Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School in 2020.
He is actively involved in multidisciplinary education and mentorship of medical students, residents, fellows, and faculty, and has delivered more than 20 national and international invited presentations.
At BAIS 2026, Dr. Jarraya will present “Photon-counting CT in Musculoskeletal Imaging”, exploring the applications of this advanced technology in musculoskeletal imaging and its potential to improve the assessment of trabecular bone, microarchitecture, entheses, and other musculoskeletal abnormalities.
